Titles that earn clicks
Lead with the clear outcome (“How to…” “Why X beats Y…” “The 7-minute framework for…”) plus a category keyword. Avoid clever-but-vague phrasing. Examples:
- “Account-Based Podcasting: A 5-Step Outreach Flow That Books Meetings”
- “Customer Email Templates that Lift Reply Rate (Real Examples)”
Show-note structure (copy this)
- Summary (2–3 sentences): the promise and who it’s for.
- Timestamps: anchor points every 3–5 minutes.
- Key ideas: 3–5 bullets with scannable phrasing.
- Resources: links to tools/books/examples.
- CTA: the one next step (lead magnet, audit, newsletter).
Add internal links to relevant episodes and a short bio for the guest (with site + socials). Wrap the page with basic FAQ schema and episode schema where supported.
YouTube matters (even for audio-first shows)
Upload a clean, branded video (static or talking-head). Optimize:
- Title: keep the same promise from your audio title.
- Description: first 2 lines = hook + link to CTA; then a formatted outline with timestamps.
- Tags & chapters: reinforce the topics you want to rank for.
- Thumbnail: big type (4–6 words), high contrast, face when possible.
The quick SEO checklist
- One primary keyword + one secondary per episode.
- Descriptive slugs (
/podcast/customer-onboarding-emails). - Alt text for images; transcripts available or linked.
- Internal links from related posts and your “Start Here” page.
- Page speed (embed players responsibly; lazy-load where possible).
Measure what matters
Track impressions/clicks to show pages, scroll depth on show notes, CTA clicks, and new subscribers tagged by episode. Tie everything back to one metric: qualified subscribers added per episode.
